Hmm.. NOW imagine our human love (as wonderful as it is) multiplied a zillion times over and directed towards YOU. Imagine someone loves you so much, that even when you are at your worst, they love you the same. Imagine someone who loves you with such passion that even when you reject them , humiliate them or even cheat on them, they never stop loving you. What kind of person is that you may ask?
It is written " For God so loved the world that He gave His ONLY begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but inherit everlasting life" John 3:16
This kind of love is supernatural - it goes beyond feelings or emotions. This love is eternal and can only be experienced by being in relationship with God through His Son - Jesus Christ. Contrary to popular belief God is not sitting in heaven waiting to condemn you or cast you into hell. He takes no pleasure in your destruction. Rather His one undivided desire is see you fulfilled, with a bright future, at peace with Him, at peace with yourself and others and living a life of significance.
THE GREATEST LOVE STORY EVER WRITTEN
God is love and created you as His child in perfection to live with Him, know Him and love Him forever. However, God is holy and His purity cannot abide with anything less than perfect. So when man fell from perfection because of disobedience, this presented Him with a huge challenge because ..."all (people) have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23.
MAN'S CONDITION
Our sin literally creates a stumbling block in that it separates us from having an intimate relationship with our Heavenly Father. Our separated state in turn, causes us to suffer inumerable consequences. ie. pain, sickness, addiction, poverty, injustice and death to name a few. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" Romans 6:23
GOD'S PROVISION
Like any good Father, God's great love for us did not diminish. So He made a way for us to be reconciled with Him without compromising His just nature. Instead of us suffering the penalty of death, He sent His own son - Jesus Christ - to live and die in full payment for our sins. We all know that actions have consequences. Similarly, the consequences of our sinful nature and actions condemn us to a life without hope and an eternal judgement in death. However when we accept Christ and His sacrificial payment on our behalf, we are saved or born again. "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved, you and your household" Acts 16:31. Therefore Christ has already paved the way for you to enjoy life to the fullest. Jesus spoke in John 10:10 and said "I have come that you may have life and that in abundance".
YOUR DECISION
God has already made His choice - He loves you and wants you to be reconciled to Him in order for you to enjoy the manifold blessings that He truly wants to shower on your life. God has already done and will continue to do all He can to save you from a life without hope and eternal judgement when you die.
